SCOPE AND TOPICS

The aim of this conference is to foster knowledge exchange in ICT applied to tourism. To this end TURITEC has been since 1999 a framework of understanding and collaboration between university researchers in ICT, business professionals and institutions in Spanish tourism industry. TuriTEC offers a unique forum for attendees from academia, industry, government, and other organizations to actively exchange, share, and challenge state-of-the-art research and industrial case studies on the application of information and communication technologies to travel and tourism

The conference will consist of several sessions at which scientific and technical input and management experience in tourism and ICT will be presented. TURITEC will have also several keynote speeches of relevant personalities of both domains.

    • Works related to the development of advanced conceptual frameworks are welcome but also empirical analyzes that show the classification and dissection of CE ecosystems in tourism are expected, as well as the identification of the role of certain key elements in the explanation of their socioeconomic and spatial behavior
    • Nature and the structures of the CE ecosystems in tourism and study of its dynamics, structures and articulation in relation to the principles and values of sustainability according to an evolutionary and sociopolitical perspective.
    • The articulation of the CE in relation to the technology and to the creation of networks in the digital economy
    • The CE consumer’s behavior, evaluating differences according to different narratives of consumption and considering the values, motivations and limitations of the users of different profiles of organizations of CE, applying both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
    • The process of construction of new images of the tourist destinations derived from EC with special attention to the symbolic value of the place
    • Spatial distribution patterns of CE platforms in urban and metropolitan areas
